Tetra Pond Fish Foods
Tetra’s pond foods are formulated to offer a balanced diet for all pond fish, whilst at the same time keeping waste levels to a minimum. This is down to the use of the best quality ingredients, advanced manufacturing processes, and thorough testing at our industry-leading research facility. The benefits of a Tetra diet include healthier, more colour fish; clearer water; less algae; better water quality; and less maintenance.
Tetra Pond Sticks and Tetra Pond Pellets: Staple diets offering a balanced diet for all pond fish (except sturgeon). You can use sticks or pellets, depending on your preference. A good diet to start with if you are unsure of what to feed.
Tetra Pond Variety Sticks and Tetra Pond MultiMix: Mixed diets, offering a more varied complete diet for all pond fish (except sturgeon). Variety Sticks contains a mix of different sticks, whilst MultiMix contains a mix of sticks, flakes, tablets, and river shrimp. MultiMix is especially suitable for ponds containing different types and sizes of fish. Feed these as an alternative to Tetra Pond Sticks or Pellets.
Tetra Pond Colour Sticks: Complete food for all pond fish with additional colour enhancers, to promote the rapid development of natural colours. Feed this food in place of your normal diet when you want to quickly improve the colour of the fish. It is especially useful for feeding to new fish, or in the early spring when colours may have faded over the winter. Colour Sticks can also be fed alongside any of our other foods to promote excellent colouration all the time
Tetra Pond Gold Mix: Premium diet specifically formulated for Goldfish, Shubunkins, and Comets, promoting excellent health, condition, and colouration. Contains a blend of sticks, flakes, and river shrimp. Feed as the main diet in ponds that contain mainly Goldfish and their varieties.
Tetra Pond Koi Sticks and Tetra Pond Koi Sticks Growth: Specially formulated Koi foods, for stunning natural colouration and top condition. Feed as the main diet in ponds containing mainly Koi, or alongside our other foods in mixed ponds. Switch to Koi Sticks Growth during the summer months, to encourage rapid, healthy growth.
Tetra Pond Wheatgerm Sticks: Complete diet, specially formulated for feeding during the autumn and winter. At low temperatures, Wheatgerm Sticks should be offered as the main diet to all pond fish (except sturgeon), as it is easier to digest in colder water. Feed once the temperature falls to 10°C and below.
Tetra Pond Sterlet Sticks: Complete food, specially formulated for Sterlets and other sturgeon. Because sturgeon have unique dietary requirements, it is essential to feed them a properly formulated food. Sterlet Sticks provides the correct balance of nutrients to keep them healthy, and should be fed whenever sturgeon are present in a pond.
All of Tetra foods provide a complete diet, so it is possible, and often beneficial, to offer a mixture of them if necessary.
Seasonal feeding
The amount of food your fish need depends on the temperature of the water, hence why they are more active in the summer. To ensure you adjust to their changing requirements, you should observe your fish feeding. Offer only as much as they can consume within a few minutes. This should be done 2-3 times a day during the spring and summer, and 1-2 times a day during the autumn and winter.
Spring: At the start of spring feed Tetra Pond Colour Sticks to quickly develop natural colours after the winter. Then switch to any suitable Tetra Pond food.
Summer: Support excellent growth rates in Koi by feeding Tetra Pond Koi Sticks Growth. These supply additional protein and energy, in a highly digestible format. If present, other fish will also benefit from the extra nutrients in this diet. Otherwise, feed any Tetra Pond food during the summer.
Autumn / Winter: Feed Tetra Pond Wheatgerm Sticks once the temperature falls below 10°C / 50ºF.
